Red alert issued, high tide likely to cause waterlogging

IMD issues an orange alert for July 22, while a yellow alert has been issued for July 23 and July 24.

The weather department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city and suburbs over the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai and surrounding areas, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 22. The IMD has also issued an orange alert for July 22, while a yellow alert has been issued for July 23 and July 24.

The IMD has warned that the heavy rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in low-lying areas and disruption of traffic and public transport. The IMD has also advised people to avoid venturing out of their homes unless absolutely necessary.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also issued an alert, asking people to take precautions and avoid venturing into waterlogged areas. The BMC has also deployed additional staff to deal with any emergencies.
