After World War II, Sturm Graz played a key role in the formation of the Austrian Football Bundesliga, the country's top-flight football league. The club enjoyed success in the Bundesliga, winning its first title in 1968. Sturm Graz has gone on to win a total of three league championships, most recently in 2018/19.
